Presented and ran by the Marrow Society in collaboration with several other UWSU societies and sports teams, Marroween is an excellent opportunity to give back to our community! All of the earnings from this spooky night go to Bone Marrow research. All UWSU Musical Theatre Society performers who choose to participate in this event will get free entry and the opportunity to perform a Beetlejuice: The Musical mashup.
Our annual Winter Extravaganza is a concert that features four big ensemble numbers as well as solos, duets and group numbers performed by our members. This event takes on a relaxed, open mic-esque theme as the members are free to perform whatever they want. This event aims to give our members a platform to shine and express themselves fully, giving them a taste of putting on a complete show before they dive into the hard work that is required in the main show. It is a chance to build confidence and faith in themselves while supporting and learning more about one another in a stress-free environment.
Choreographers: Melia Tabani, Jillian Keith, Victoria Fasel, and Carys Kitney
Bring It On: The Musical tells the story of Campbell Davis, a young cheerleader who dreams of leading her squad to victory at a National competition. The story focuses on the world of competitive cheerleading and the intense rivalries it creates. Campbell's future is secure: handsome boyfriend, a killer squad, and the newly awarded title of cheer captain. Suddenly, however, she is mysteriously reassigned to another school: the inner-city Jackson High, where she knows hardly anyone and worse: they don't have a cheerleading squad!
Featuring a sassy script and fresh new songs from Tony Award winners Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton, In the Heights, 21 Chump Street) and Tom Kitt (Next to Normal), Bring It On is bound to be a show for the books!
